About Stephanie Cooper

My current goal at this time is to build my skills and knowledge in administration and leadership roles in health care. I have recently completed my masters journey with the goal of moving into a leadership role. The experience I have acquired over the last 16 years within and outside the hospital setting has provided an abundance of knowledge in the challenges people face prior to, during and after their hospital stay. With this knowledge I feel I will be a positive addition to any team in supporting the people under my care and in a teaching capacity for those learning the trade of nursing. Specialties: I am currently certified in vascular access/IV starts and devices, BCLS. I am proficient at hemodynamic monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation, patient teaching, diabetes care, pain management, post surgical care and haemophilia care. I also have had experience with family support, mental health, neurological dysfunctions, and critical care health needs. Recently, I was given the opportunity to work with those at end of life and in complex life situations. I was the charge nurse of a palliative and medically complex unit, as well as a behaviour/ALC unit. After some time, I took over as the charge for a medical inpatient unit and have now moved back to bedside in a surgical setting.
