About Stephanie Doss

Educational Philosophy: My approach to higher education, on the micro to macro levels, is always to be student-centered. Choosing to go to college is a decision not made lightly by many; the opportunities that gaining a degree provide are increasingly necessary to have a stable life. As such, I feel that higher education institutions have a responsibility to their students to design intentional academic and co-curricular programs that line students up for success far beyond their walk across the graduation stage. I greatly value giving the opportunity for constituent groups (students, faculty, and staff) to provide their input before making major change, and to make decisions transparent for greater buy-in from these groups.My work with online undergraduate students (typically an older demographic who are returning to school after taking time to work, start families, care for parents, etc.) has heightened my passion for increasing the access and attainability of a college degree without compromising the quality of academics, while recognizing the unique needs of non-traditional students and providing appropriate, relevant curriculum and adequate support and services. Beyond all, I believe in students. Through having access to crucial support resources, participating in engaging coursework, and working towards a passionate career goal, students can and will thrive.
