About Stephanie Dunn

Stephanie Dunn is the Executive Director of Star Farm Chicago, a non-profit urban farm and landscaping service located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. She brings a wealth of skills to the organization as a licensed general contractor and farmer. In addition to managing just shy of an acre of urban space she also helps build and maintain the farms infrastructure and is a staunch advocate for disability rights and the inclusion of women in positions of leadership in the sustainability field. Star Farm aims to create an inclusive space on their farm by providing local jobs, vocational training and horticultural therapy to people with disabilities or employment barriers, as well as incubating BIPOC women farmers, managing wholesale and retail relations, distribution partnerships, and hosting high quality community based programming. Through their work, they hope to inspire the next generation of urban growers and food justice advocates while improving the long term physical and mental health of the community they serve and creating equitable transformation in the food system.
