About Stephanie Jacobs

I am a nonprofit and food systems professional with more than five years of experience in leadership and governance. I bring a strategic, grounded, heartfelt, and determined approach to my work. I am driven to reshape how power and resources flow in the nonprofit sector and help create systems that truly serve and strengthen communities, especially in the areas of food systems and food sovereignty. Over the years, I have served as an Executive Director, Board Director, consultant, farmer and teacher. These roles have given me a wide perspective and hands-on experience in fundraising, program development and analysis, communications, community and youth education, and food systems policy and advocacy. I care deeply about building relationships and working collaboratively towards real change. In my current role, I coordinate the Thriving Non-Profits program, where I work alongside organizations across Canada as a coach, consultant and facilitator. I support nonprofit leaders to reduce reliance on traditional funding streams, strengthen financial sustainability, and position their organizations within a growing social impact economy. I am also completing a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at Royal Roads University, with a focus on bioregional food systems, food sovereignty, sustainability, and policy. This work is guided by a commitment to advancing Indigenous rights, environmental justice, and community well-being. Outside of work, you’ll often find me in the garden, at a farmers market, or on the beach with a cup of coffee. I am very grateful to live in lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territory.
