Profile Litigator, procompetitive policy advocate, and counsel to telecommunications companies. Licensed in California, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Litigation experience in the telecommunications industry, most notably in defense of consumer class actions and intercarrier compensation, as well as antitrust matters including the Government’s suit against Microsoft, the Internet Domain Name Registry, and as plaintiffs’ counsel in a case alleging price fixing in the commercial real estate market. Experienced in representing telecommunications clients before the Federal Communication Commission, several state commissions, as well as Congress, where she has lobbied Staff in both houses and advocated pro-competitive broadband and privacy legislation. She has served as counsel to several competitive carriers in federal appeals of FCC orders, including the Inmate Rate Orders, Triennial Review Order, CPNI Order, and the so-called All-or-Nothing Order. Extensive background in providing transactional and regulatory counsel to her clients, including several major Internet companies, and is experienced in negotiating multiple contracts for the provision of backbone and content services. In addition, she is adept in advising clients on the implementation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and the CAN-SPAM Act.
