About Stephanie Manuel

I remember watching my neighbors come home each day after work looking tired and frustrated. At a very young age I was able to discern that they were genuinely unhappy with their field of work but they did it because it's what you did as an adult. You go to school, get a job, get married and die. I was convinced that being unhappy was the covering for this cycle and determined at that age that whatever I did in life, I had to enjoy it. After a few jobs in the customer service field I began volunteering at a residential property management office. My responsibilities were to sort the mail, pay any bills and contact tenants for any outstanding amounts on their accounts. To my surprise, I really enjoyed the tenant interaction. There were a lot of challenges but overall I loved it. I began to study all things property management and even began to hang out at the Landlord and Tenant court listening to the disputes and how they were solved. This grew my love for the field even more. Soon after the owner of the management firm encouraged me to branch out after noticing how well I did with her company which led to my first commercial property management position. I was hired by Penzance as a Tenant Services Coordinator. Though it was property management, it was commercial which meant I would be handling a lot of money, dealing with way more tenants and reports. It was challenging but I was up for the challenge because I loved the field so much. As my experience and knowledge grew so did the opportunities. Then came Jones Lang LaSalle, one the most leading commercial property management companies. Embraced by a team of knowledgeable engineers and managers I now assist with the management of over square feet of property in the DMV area. I wear many hats in my position where I am responsible for AR reports, AP, Tenant Relations, as well as Monthly Budgets. My career has been nothing but rewarding and I look forward to continuous growth and advancement.
