About Stephanie Mason

Since taking over the business with my partner in 2019, OPEN architecture has gone from strength to strength, the company has received numerous awards including: Build-It awards shortlist for Best Designer of an Extension project (Decision end of November 2024), The Frank Marshall Award 2023, Business Excellence Award for Best Multi-Disciplinary Architecture and Planning Practice in the Southeast of England, Global 100 2022 Winner for Best Architectural Firm of the Year. My professional life and skill set has grown through involvement with a variety of scale practices including Foster+Partners and GRID architects where I helped to develop the interior design side of the business. Having studied in both the US and the UK, the influence of both environment and teaching methods has been invaluable in my success and drive. Personally, since 2020, I have also stepped into a number of voluntary roles helping to influence change and promote joining the architectural industry, particularly to women. This includes an EA role at Hillview School for Girls, Running a design workshop at Radnor House (independent day school), and giving a careers talk at Walthamstow School for Girls. My passion is creating beautiful, functional spaces which are not wasteful and will create a lasting impression in my client's lives. The best of my job is making a positive impact on how people live.
