About Stephanie McCarthy

I’m a senior at Texas Christian University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with majors in Political Science and Communication Studies. As a member of the John V. Roach Honors College, I’m passionate about academic excellence and interdisciplinary learning. My interest in political science began in high school through my involvement with nonprofit organizations, where I saw how policy and advocacy can create meaningful, lasting change. My studies in communication have strengthened my ability to lead, collaborate, and engage others through intentional and effective dialogue. Outside the classroom, I’ve gained hands-on experience through nonprofit internships, event planning, and student leadership. As a Frog Camp Director, I’ve had the opportunity to mentor incoming first-year students, foster community, and help lead large-scale orientation programs. I also serve as the President of Impact of Words, where I help organize initiatives that promote mental health awareness and student connection. I’m committed to being a source of encouragement and positivity, and I strive to use my knowledge of political systems and communication strategies to inspire others and make a meaningful impact in every space I enter.
