About Stephanie McDonnell
PhD researcher and molecular/cellular biologist with a strong foundation in reproductive and vascular biology and translational research. My doctoral work focuses on bovine ovarian physiology as a model to better understand female fertility, with broader applications to human health. I bring hands-on experience in experimental design, microscopy, mammalian cell culture, immunoassays, rodent disease models, and genomic analysis (including RNA-seq and qPCR). I’m passionate about leveraging my scientific expertise in collaborative, fast-paced environments to drive innovation in broader biotechnology applications—including reproductive, cardiovascular, neuroendocrine, immunological, and metabolic systems. Current Projects: Characterizing connexin 37 expression and function in bovine preantral follicles and early antral cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs). Developing optimized protocols for isolation and in vitro culture of bovine preantral follicles to support folliculogenesis studies.
