About Stephanie Mitchell

As a little kid, I dreamed of becoming a famous singer. A few years passed, I shot up a bit in height and decided I was mature now, so *obviously* I was meant to be a writer. Then high school came and went, teachers' were confident I would make a great lawyer. So I went on to graduate with two Bachelor degrees and realised I had no clue what I should do with them. The answer, it seems, is that there is no answer. There is no professional achievement that will mark the end of my career. The steps I take may veer wildly off any presumed course because as I grow my interests will shift. The foundations of me remain strong, but what I choose to stack upon them will change. All of this to say, I never skip a chance to sing along (knowing the lyrics is optional). I submit short stories to writing competitions and answer almost every yes/no question with "it depends". I hold all my ambitions dearly, looking forward to wherever I wander along to next.
