About Stephanie Moss

I am a Registered Nurse completing my graduate year in the Acute Care of the Elderly medical ward at Ipswich Hospital. During my last two years, I have cared for the over-65 population, presenting with a vast range of acute medical conditions and had the opportunity to consolidate the knowledge and skills I gained from my tertiary studies on a daily basis within a well-supported team. I have found that my experiences thus far have been valuable beyond words, and I have quickly become very passionate about my specialty. I have watched some of my patients rehabilitate from deconditioning and meet their health goals to safely return home independently when the idea of doing so seemed impossible at admission. I have also been able to sit with patients, hold their hands, and make them comfortable and pain-free as they pass from terminal illness when they have no relatives to be there with them at that time. My job is much more than simply ‘nurse’, and I am blessed and grateful every day that I am able to be so involved and make a positive difference in their individual health journeys. I completed a Bachelor Degree in Nursing at the University of Queensland in July 2016 with a GPA 6.0 following the completion of a Diploma of Nursing at the Bremer Institute of TAFE in 2013. Throughout my nursing studies, I participated in approximately 600 hours of a variety of well-rounded clinical practice placements, including several acute medical wards in Ipswich Hospital such as Acute Care of the Eldery and Cardiac, as well as IGH Older Persons Mental Health Unit, Nowlanville Residential Aged Care Facility, Ipswich Day Hospital, Gatton Hospital, and Ipswich Hospice.
