Background
About Stephanie Prose
My passion for over 20 years has been helping people get through their struggles and becoming the best version of themselves. My role as a Correctional Officer with the State of Minnesota was a test of perseverance with youth who were the highest risk in the state. They were admitted to the facility because the counties they resided in had exhausted all community based interventions. While working with these youth, I assisted with teaching independent living skills, cognitive behavioral therapy, and anger management. I worked with other correctional officers, educational staff, and mental health personnel to develop individualized treatment plans. While employed as a juvenile probation officer with Olmsted County, I had the opportunity to work with youth who committed crimes, utilizing a community based intervention approach. I collaborated with courts, law enforcement, educational staff, mental health professionals, social services, and drug/alcohol programs to prepare case plans that was multisystemic in nature and addressed all the underlying issues that may have contributed to the anti-social/criminal behavior. One of the primary areas that we focused on since we dealt with youth, was family interactions. Many times we set up the family with counseling/case management services, in hopes that the environment the youth was living in was as supportive as possible. I recruited volunteers for the Diversion program and worked closely with victims of crimes. Many times we would have the victim and offender meet with a panel that consisted of law enforcement, school representatives, community individuals, mental health and chemical dependency professionals. The group as a collective would strategize what the best restorative action would be for the particular youth. Over the past few years, through my business ownership and work within the pharmacy, I have had the opportunity to enhance my skills related to: accuracy, adaptability, collaboration, dependability, detail orientation, multi-tasking, organizational skills, prioritizing tasks, problem solving, teamwork and time management. It is through many years working with diverse populations, collaboration with community professionals, and the knowledge of multifaceted organizations, that I bring an unbiased approach to how I conduct my work. From case management and court preparation to preparing budgets and customer service, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to assist individuals and organizations reach their greatest potential.
