About Stephanie Simon

I was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to Vancouver, WA when I was seven years old. I went to the Naval Academy Preparatory School from 2012-2013 and then did my four years at USNA. I graduated from USNA May 26, 2017 and commissioned as a Marine Corps Ground Officer and started TBS June 2017 and graduated December 2017 as an Amphibious Assault Officer. At TBS, I was awarded for earning the highest PT scores and averages in my TBS Class. Following TBS, I went to MOS school in March 2018 and graduated June 2018. I was number two in my class. In June 2018, I became the Platoon Commander of Bravo Company 3rd Platoon at 2dAABn located in Camp Lejeune, NC. While in that Platoon, we deployed for three months to Norway for the Trident Juncture exercise. I was in charge of 15 Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAVs) and over 50 Marines aboard the USS Gunston-Hall. After 6 months, I was then selected to be the Mobility Counter Mobility (MCM) Platoon Commander. MCM is a specialty lane breaching platoon that fire what’s called the MCLC or Mine Clearing Line-Charge which consists of three 1700lbs tubs of C4 explosives. Following my Platoon Commander time, I became an Executive Officer for Alpha Company from August 2019-January 2020. As the XO, I assisted Alpha Company at the MAGTF Warfighting Exercise in 29 Palms. In January 2020, I became the II MARDIV G-4 Assistant Current Operations Officer. In this billet I managed several feasibility of support messages in support of subordinate and adjacent commands resulting in the accomplishment of training and deployment objectives and coordinated with the over 20 subordinate commands under 2d MarDiv to synchronize logistics efforts across all elements of the MAGTF. In May of 2020, I received orders to become the Golf Company XO at Marine Combat Training Battalion. As the XO, I acted as G Company CO and was responsible for more than 200 Students and 16 Combat Instructors. I responsible for planning and executing the company field exercise, briefing the pick-up brief to the Battalion Commander, and completing battalion SITREPs. I worked there until September 2020. I received orders to II MEF in September 2020. I have been the II MEF MACE Boxing team Platoon Commander and Team Captain ever since. As the boxing team captain, I have participated in three national tournaments, winning 1st Place in two of the three, was invited to the Women’s Boxing World Team Training camp at the Olympic Training Center, and was awarded the “Golden Girl” award which is given to the top female boxer of the National Golden Gloves Tournament.
