I am an accredited and fully qualified PGA professional who is seeking a career change and retraining. Finance has always interested me, as I thoroughly enjoy numbers, patterns and logic. I pride myself on having a strong work ethic with particular focus on attention to detail, logic, and an analytical approach to tasks. Furthermore, I have proven experience in quickly learning new systems and understanding the importance of the job in hand. Working in a customer facing industry such as golf has allowed me to learn how work with a variety of different personalities within a team and on a customer basis. I have also worked in several different sized teams that required good inter department communication across the golf club to deliver the first-class service that is expected. Communication of day-to-day operations, in an ever-changing environment, has given me the confidence to approach any problems with an analytical view and ultimately resolve them to the satisfaction of the customer and the business. I work with MS Office on a daily basis, both in a professional capacity and at home. I have spent the last few months working as Finance and Administration Assistant at Frilford Heath Golf Club, although this position is only temporary, to assist the accounts department in their migration of EPOS operating software throughout the club. My Excel skills have been utilised on multiple occasions to assist with streamlining daily tasks and also compiling multiple data sheets from their old operating system into one individual form that the new provider could upload. In the short time I have been at Frilford I have been able to apply my analytical skills to investigate the reasons for reporting differences under my own initiative. I have also been exposed to daily accounting practices and systems such as Sage where I have quickly picked up the skills shown such that I’ve been able to be left to independently complete the tasks I’ve been handed. As a self-employed golf coach, being a self-reliant and driven individual is an essential skill. Since I qualified, I have had to be responsible for promoting my own business, marketing myself through the creation of a website and socialising with an average of 500 members at the clubs I have worked at. More importantly I have had to be disciplined and ensure I manage my own accounts accurately and complete yearly tax returns on time.
