About Stephen Brown

Stephen M. Brown is Professor of Management, and the former Dean of the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University. The College of Business was named for Jack Welch, earned initial accreditation by AACSB, and was named a “Best Business College” by the Princeton Review during his leadership. He came to Sacred Heart University as the Founding Dean of University College. While Dean at Sacred Heart University he established SHU Online and corporate campuses at three major corporations. He remains on the Board of Advisors Nonprofit Center. Previously, Dr. Brown was the Dean of the Graduate School and the School of Management at Lesley University. Dr. Brown is the author of over thirty articles, co-author of Outsourcing and Human Resources: Trends, Models and Guidelines, co-editor of Evaluating Corporate Training: Models and Issues, and author of Tips for Facilitating On-line Learning and Tips for On-line Training. Dr. Brown was Scholar in Residence at Digital Equipment Corporation. He was a Principle consultant at Linkage Inc.He also served as mentor to the University of Texas at Brownsville College of Business. Dr. Brown’s international experience includes living in Germany for one year, teaching at the Sacred Heart campus in Luxembourg, and multi-national consulting clients in Europe. For five years, he was the Founder and Co-chair of the Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation of Corporate Training Conference. He also served as the Chair of the National Conference on Technology, Learning, and Staff Development, as well as the Outsourcing Human Resources National Conference. Dr. Brown has taught courses at Sacred Heart University, Lesley University, University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, Boston University, and Bridgewater State University.
