About Stephen Catrambone

I currently serve as Director of Special Education and Specialized Services in the Cheltenham School District. In addition, I serve as an instructor and curriculum developer for graduate and doctoral level courses Prior to this, I was Director of Special Education in the Philadelphia School District (amazing place!) as well as an elementary principal/supervisor of special ed. in West Chester Area School District and principal at an elementary/middle school (1-8) in Interboro SD. I have extensive experience in teacher observation/evaluation, curriculum, classroom management, scheduling and discipline. I have co-taught math and chemistry at the high school level, special education and physical education at the elementary as well as teaching students with severe and emotional disturbance at the middle school level. I have also enjoyed earning a Master's in Special Ed. and an Educational Specialists' and doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. I was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised just outside of Philly in West Chester. I spent my younger years using my imagination, playing sports and trying to stay out of trouble. During my junior and senior years of high school, I had several tryouts with professional baseball teams. No worthwhile offers were made and I chose to go to college. No regrets, best choice I ever made! After graduating from college with a degree in Health and PE, I moved to Florida and began teaching. I have three wonderful children Hayley (22), Morgan (16) and Zachary (15). My two girls are Daddy's girls and we sometimes rarely use Zach's first name as we often address him as “no”, “stop” or “down”. My beautiful wife was in sales and marketing for just over ten years. Her biggest sale was landing me-) Now, she performs near miracles in our local hospital’s emergency room as a nurse. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, going to the gym and participating in organized sports such as YMCA basketball, adult baseball and flag football. I am an avid Philadelphia sports fan – Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Sixers along with college teams such as Penn State and Villanova.
