About Stephen Cavanaugh

For nearly two decades I have worked in publishing. After a stint at Mosby-Year Book in 1995-96 (Philadelphia), I moved to Boston and in began working at Pharmacotherapy, a multidisciplinary clinical pharmacy journal, where I worked in production, editorial, business, IT and subscriptions. I served as managing editor for several years. From 2012 to 2013 I worked for the Journal of Infectious Diseases. In January 2013 I began as Managing Editor of The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine and in June 2013 became the Managing Editor of Annals of Surgery. Beginning in 2016 I will be the peer review manager for the Journal of Chemical Physics. I have worked as a teacher in several fields. Elementary Computer Science (preK through 8), Library (K-8), English (9-12), Spanish (1-6 and 9-12) and graduate classes through French River Ed. Consortium. I was a member of the Museum of Science, Boston's Science Learning Network team, working with area teachers in the use of internet technologies to further science instruction. Specialties: software: ScholarOne Manuscripts, Editorial Manager, QuarkXPress, FileMaker Pro, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AppleScript, MS Office, QuickBooks Pro, Macintosh (general). Other: Editing, budgeting, data analysis. Fluent in Spanish. Not so fluent in Latin. Working on Vietnamese.
