About Stephen Choi

I am a CPA-qualified internal audit and risk management professional with more than 20 years of financial services experience, having commenced my career in the front-line of business banking. My career has involved being accountable to deliver third-line assurance across banking operations (front-office, back-office and corporate centre functions) in Australia and across Asia for a 'Big 4' bank with a market capitalisation of circa A$75bn My roles have enabled me to constructively work with management across all levels on assurance engagements and transformation programs, as well as to present to regulators in Australia and across Asia on assurance plans and the remediation of significant issues. I am a passionate believer in applying innovative techniques including data-led continuous auditing, agile audit execution and root cause analysis. I have 10+ years of direct people leadership experience and find coaching and developing teams of people to be immensely rewarding. Complementing this, I have led and championed employee recognition and actively volunteered in the community in a professional and generalist capacity.
