About Stephen Curley

Passionate collegiate athletics administrator with a demonstrated history of working in Division I FBS/FCS athletic departments in operations and compliance. Over the last 5+ years, I've developed highly effective presentation skills with a proven ability to distill complex information into comprehensible insights for a variety of audiences with exceptional attention to detail. In addition, I have learned how to build effective relationships and work well with a variety of constituents across functions and levels of experience. Notable projects include, implementing an engaging rules education program for coaches, student-athletes, athletics staff, boosters, and local businesses reducing NCAA violations by 20% from previous year. In my current position as Director of Compliance at Clemson University, I leverage my excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to perform accurate detail-oriented work to provide exceptional customer service to athletics staff and student-athletes. My ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies has been a key factor in allowing me to develop strong relationships with coaches, student-athletes, and staff members. In addition to my full-time role, I have gained leadership experience by serving as a Convention Committee member for the National Association of Athletics Compliance (NAAC) where I coordinate sessions with other compliance professionals that take place at the annual NACDA convention.
