About Stephen Davies

I'm a self-taught, dedicated, and versatile developer with a deep passion for code. I thrive on new challenges and enjoy diving into unfamiliar territor, especially when there's a steep learning curve. I pick up new technologies and programming languages quickly. With over 20 years in software development, I started in Project Management before moving into software design and coding. My journey began with Java and the JVM, which remain my core strengths. I'm a certified Spring Professional and have hands-on experience with JavaScript and its ecosystem, particularly React and Angular. I've worked across stacks using Spring/Spring Boot, Nest, and Node, and have deployed to cloud platforms like AWS and GCP. I'm also well-versed in standard build tools.I'm especially drawn to programming languages and paradigms, and I aim to apply solid principles in my day-to-day development. I enjoy both functional and traditional approaches, and I regularly explore emerging languages like Rust and Odin.Collaborative by nature, I'm communicative, motivated, and a strong team player. I learn best through hands-on problem solving, trial and error, asking questions, and tackling complex challenges head-on. I'm a native English speaker with a strong working fluency in Finnish.
