About Stephen Dearborn

Stephen’s extensive education and real-world experience has provided him with a unique perspective on the cross-intersections between mental health, psychology and criminal justice. He first graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, with honors, while serving in the US Navy from 2012 – 2018, where he worked as a Military Law Enforcement officer. Stephen moved to Washington state in 2018, where he was honorably discharged from the Navy. At this time, Stephen was looking to expand his resume and seek out new opportunities. Washington offered those opportunities for Stephen, in which he gained experience working as a Crime Victim Advocate and also, a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Advocate for the Navy. Now working as a Marriage and Family Therapist, he has learned, and practiced skills ranging from CBT, Trauma Focused Therapy and Bio-Psychosocial Assessments, to Crisis Intervention and Motivational Interviewing. Stephen has completed two Master of Arts degrees — one in Organizational Leadership and the other in Psychology, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. He also holds numerous certifications in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques and more. These accomplishments have allowed Stephen to not only serve others and give back to the community, but to give professional presentations and educate others in the process. Stephen continues to be a life-long learner and is prepared to rise to the occasion when the challenge comes along.
