Medical research professional with more than 25 years of experience in neurological research, pharmaceutical discovery, industry consultant, and medical device start-up. Extensive experience in study design, development and execution of pre-clinical, clinical and translational research protocols, budgeting, compliance, and regulatory matters. Served seventeen years as research director, successfully initiated and cultivated programs and funding in Pediatric and Congenital Neurosurgery Research, and Pediatric Neurosurgical Oncology Research. Extensive knowledge and training in clinical trials, outcomes research, and investigator-initiated sponsored trials and industry sponsored trial management. Co-inventor/co-founder of CSF Therapeutics, Inc, a Cleveland Clinic biomedical spin-off company. Responsible for securing >$8M in research funding through federal, institutional, and industry sources. Extensive publication and presentation portfolio. Teaching instructor at the graduate and medical levels; mentored >60 under/graduate, medical students, clinical fellows and physicians in experimental and clinical research investigations. Co-founded a non-profit organization to provide service and financial aid to families/patients in the NE Ohio region.
