About Stephen Engelman

I am very blessed to work with a world class team building simulation systems that bring in embedded software developers significantly earlier into the SoC design process. I enjoy wearing a number of hats to serve my team in top to bottom development. I can be found developing SystemC/TLM2 device models, debugging embedded systems, hacking filesystems, hacking on Linux kernels, or hacking/porting Android. I also enjoy writing documentation, crazy shell scripting, and using my debugging skills to support the field engineers with customer engagements. My experience began in system on chip (SoC) verification where I developed strong fundamentals in methodology using hardware description languages and the Specman/e verification language. SoC verification led me to build my software development skills in electronics design automation (EDA) tool development at Sharp. Working in a fast-paced startup (Formos) expanded and strengthened my software engineering skills through the development of enterprise applications using custom client/server technologies. To this day I still enjoy learning new programming languages, development methodologies, and frameworks. I spent over seven years in the field as an Application Engineer for Verisity/Cadence and Mentor Graphics supporting all sizes of ASIC development teams, specializing in verification planning and management, coverage development, and testbench methodology and architecture.
