About Stephen Fanning

Ever since an inspiring business study teacher set up a class stock picking competition I've been fascinated about how businesses operate and grow and what makes one business better than the other. With 20+ years of experience in many industries across a variety of roles I've gained invaluable insights into what makes a great company and how I can contribute to their success. I continue learning new skills and business knowledge and apply this on a daily basis.I never set out to be a leader of teams but having lead teams large and small, experienced and inexperienced, within my area of expertise and outside my area of expertise, in startups and Fortune 500 companies, I've taken enormous satisfaction in seeing team members grow and develop and being proud that I played some part in their career journey. I've always treated work as somewhere to do great things but also somewhere to obtain valuable life skills and I encourage my teams to do the same.I'm a senior Finance and Operations Executive who is exceptionally astute commercially having worked in Telecoms, Financial Services, Fraud & Identity Verification in EU & US multinationals and startup organisations and I love doing what I do in helping build successful businesses.Outside of work as well as having fun with my family I clear the head by cycling many kilometres up and down the Irish countryside, try coach my son's youth football team and hobble around a 5 a side football pitch still dreaming of a career that never happened.
