About Stephen Galas

I am a Material Scientist Engineer with 30 years of experience creating and validating characterization techniques critical to optimizing the properties of materials, scaled up prototypes, and commercial medical devices. I have developed innovative methods and models used to rapidly screen materials, improve product development cycle, or predict clinical performance of the device. My passion for solving complex problems and understanding data connections were used to improve core competencies and solve operating problems on a local and global level. Technical direction and innovative techniques were delivered to cross-functional teams which led to successful results and numerous product launches. Technical expertise was utilized to grow a $2B+ medical device company and guide the industry in the revision/development of national (ANSI) and international (ISO) standards. My role as a subject matter expert in material and product measurements enabled me to make significant contributions in the areas of patent creation and litigation, discovering and evaluating external technologies, and the development of medical device standards.
