Financial regulatory compliance: in January 2016 I commenced as Deputy Director, Legal & Enforcement, at the Financial Services Commission in the BVI. As head of Legal, I have responsibility for advising on and conducting litigation for the Commission in the field of regulatory compliance including Banking, Insurance, Companies, Trusts, and Insolvency law and the related financial services. I appear as Counsel for the Commission in litigation cases in the High Court and the Commercial Court of the BVI and I have responsibility for advising the Commission in respect of financial services legislation and the use of its enforcement powers. I am a Barrister with over 25 years experience of prosecuting serious and complex fraud and White Collar Crime and, latterly, financial regulatory compliance and enforcement. I have specialist expertise in the law of Money Laundering, Restraint and the confiscation of the proceeds of criminal conduct. Since 2011 I have specialised in financial regulatory compliance and enforcement, initially as a lawyer/investigator in the Enforcement and Market Oversight Division of the Financial Conduct Authority and, since January 2016, as Deputy Director of Legal & Enforcement and head of Legal at the BVI Financial Services Commission.o In November 2017 I commenced as Ag. General Counsel and Ag. Director of Legal & Enforcement at the Commission.
