About Stephen Grech

My working experience spans across team leadership, project management and technical roles. The team leadership and project management responsibilities cover projects of varying magnitude and diverse methodologies and frameworks including traditional waterfall and SCRUM. The nature of these projects requires multiple work streams to be coordinated concurrently due to dependencies on each other. The current projects adopting a SCRUM framework include coordinating teams in a typical scrum master role, across three countries in different time zones and three work streams of varying team size, monitoring and ensuring that sprint goals are attained. Another parallel unrelated work stream requires team leading/subject matter expert responsibilities in a traditional waterfall methodology setup for another large offshore client. The technologies adopted for these projects vary from IBM Mainframe Technology, IBM Websphere, AWS/PHP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and D365 running on IBM DB2, MySQL and SQL Server databases respectively. The technical roles entrusted over the years, covered different IT functions ranging from PC and LAN support, Y2K migrations, platform migrations, involvement in all of the software development lifecycle stages for systems developed using RM/COBOL, IBM COBOL and IBM DB2, IBM Websphere, AWS/PHP/MySQL setups, Peoplesoft Application Engine, Peoplecode and Peoplesoft SQR and also Microsoft Visual Basic V6.0. I am keen on keeping an interest in Agile methodologies and upcoming technologies, including reading about C# and Google's Big Data. Non profession interests include nutrition, following football and formula 1 racing.
