About Stephen Greenberg

I've had a varied life consisting of equally varied careers. After attending San Francisco Art Institute I maintained a life as a stained glass artisan in Santa Cruz, California, while raising a family that included a daughter, Kai. I then moved into film making, first as a set decorator before moving to Los Angeles and working for, among others, Roger Corman, as a production designer (credits at IMDB.com). Along with the Argentinian director Martin Donovan, I had a script optioned at New Line. I then fell in love and moved to Madrid, Spain for several years. I returned to my (future) wife's home in Cleveland and we had a son, Noah, who is now beginning High School. Cheryl is currently finishing up her masters at CSU to become a social worker. In Cleveland I first worked for the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, supervising those with disabilities while implementing art classes. I went back to school, finished my BA in Psychology at Ursuline and then a Masters in Nonprofit Administration at John Carroll University. I worked for a nonprofit based out of NEOMED, supporting High School students in inner city Cleveland as they addressed Social Determinants of Health (SDoH). Schools included Lincoln West, John Hay School of Medicine/Early College, Collinwood, Harvey, MLK, MC2, New Tech East, and Marshall. Our organization, along with an AmeriCorps staff, moved to Baldwin Wallace, where I continued working with schools as well as documenting with photos and videos the activities of schools within Cleveland as well as in surrounding rural areas. I then joined a team in the office of diversity and inclusion at University Hospitals where we partnered with Case Western and First Year Cleveland creating content for a Learning Management System. My contribution utilized photography, video, 360 video, and VR to address institutional racism, specifically around infant mortality. This was in partnership with The Cleveland Clinic, UH, and MetroHealth. The grant supporting this effort ended at the end of June. In. addition I assisted in creating a nonprofit 501c3 (C.H.A.N.G.E.) that is currently re-assessing the best way to implement programming centered around education and the SDoH. Currently: I drive Uber (see my stories) Teach art to people with Parkinson's at InMotion in Cleveland Teach photography and video after school to middle schoolers at Ratner Montessori Document camps for SOS; videos and photography that are used to attract grants and donations I am currently available for other positions: greenbergstephen@gmail.com
