I am a Director in Arup Ireland based in the Dublin Office. I am Firm’s European Data Centre Business Leader. I am responsible for setting our course and strategic direction, our short, medium- and long-term targets, and tracking and reporting on these metrics. I continue to grow our market presence and turnover and sustain a healthy profit. My global network of clients, partners, collaborators and leaders across the DC Industry has supported that sustainable growth. I have identified and deployed the optimum expertise through cross functional, international teams to deliver the highest quality, sustainable solutions. I promote diversity through targeted hiring, being inclusive and facilitating mobility. I cultivate and encourage staff to be independent thinkers and innovators, motivating them to maximise their potential. My extensive experience across a broad range of diverse sectors and in particular the Mission Critical and Data Centre sectors has given me a deep appreciation of developing solutions to meet regulatory, policy and legislation specific requirements. The rapidly evolving energy space and power landscape necessitate innovative solutions to operate within planetary boundaries. I have specific project management and building services design experience in the following areas- Data centre design including being an Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer- Commercial Developments- Industrial facilities including rail and power generation- Renewable technologies including biomass power stations- Healthcare including paediatric intensive care units- Optimisation of district heating systems achieving improved energy efficiencies- University and 3rd level education sector buildings- Science and Research buildings including nanotechnology laboratory buildings- Sports facilities- Masterplanning of large developments in an urban context. I have previously worked in Australia and USA. Specialties- People, project and business management skills- Data centres- Optimising systems to achieve efficiencies and reduce energy consumption and emissions - Renewable technologies including biomass, solar and photovoltaic- Nano technology laboratory design- Biomass power station design- Paediatric healthcare including intensive care facilities.
