About Stephen Herchen

Over 30 years experience in the imaging industry with the last 12 years at the senior executive level managing R&D and new product development for Polaroid Corporation (VP & CTO) and ZINK Imaging Inc.(EVP & CTO). Currently serve as Chief Technology Advisor at Polaroid Originals. In this role I provide technical guidance to the company’s management and Film R and D teams. Previously CTO at Impossible Camera GmbH in Germany and the Netherlands. Impossible re-established Polaroid’s the instant analog film and camera business. In my CTO role I was responsible for leading technology development and R&D and new product development for analog instant film. From my Polaroid and ZINK Imaging positions I have extensive experience establishing and managing strategic and OEM product development and manufacturing partnerships in Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, China). I was a member of the management team that spun ZINK Imaging Inc. out of Polaroid in 2005. At ZINK, I was responsible for developing the company's technology and product roadmaps and for management of our IP portfolio and all technical programs both in-house and with Far East partners. Provided technical leadership for several rounds of funding for the company. My goal is to continue in a senior management and leadership position in a cutting edge high tech company committed to growth through innovation and partnerships. Specialties include: Analog and digital imaging technical expertise; project management of large multi-company technology and product development programs including selection of partners, negotiation of Joint Development/IP and Supply Agreements, and technical project management; functional management of medium to large multi-national R&D organization; IP strategy development and portfolio management.
