About Stephen Hodnett

I graduated as an occupational therapist in 2020 from the Masters programme at the University of Limerick with first-class honours. I have worked in wide range of educational and medical settings for the past ten years. I completed a Bachelor of Education in 2012 and worked as a primary school teacher for over 8 years. I am currently working with Dyspraxia Ireland as an Occupational Therapy Co-Ordinator and Project Manager of the POTTS programme. These experiences included working with families directly while engaging in coaching and the presentation of webinars through regional education centres. My work with Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland has included providing coaching for parents, group sessions, one-to-one consultations and the development of the ‘Our Say in Our Schools’ resource with some of the families I worked with. These experiences provided me with a wide range of valuable experiences and greatly benefitted my interpersonal, organisational, problem solving, administrative and communication skills. During these years I gained experience in coaching, tutoring, skills development and establishing and co-ordinating new programmes. I have undertaken a broad range of CPD in areas of interest to me; these include Irish Sign Language (ISL), Coaching Skills for Occupational therapists, Sensory processing and integration, Co-Op approach, Occupational Therapy in the classroom and fundamental movement courses.
