About Stephen Jaeger

Stephen Jaeger has over 30 years of experience in aerospace engineering, project management, noise control consulting and acoustics research. During his career he has managed hundreds of engineering projects to successful completion. Mr. Jaeger’s recent consulting activities have focused upon acoustical design, noise control, vibration control, vibration and noise measurements, and environmental acoustics for high-technology facilities including semiconductor fabs and university laboratories. Before becoming an acoustics consultant, he was employed for 14 years as an aerospace engineer, first with Dowty Rotol in the UK, then McDonnell Douglas Technologies in San Diego, followed by positions with two contracting firms at NASA Ames Research Center. During his NASA tenure, Stephen Jaeger conducted research on airframe and jet engine noise in large-scale wind tunnels. His work included instrument design, development of phased microphone array measurement techniques, and development of methods for reducing flow-induced microphone self-noise. He also consulted on the acoustical design of wind tunnel test sections, anechoic chambers, and biohabitat payloads for the International Space Station. He also managed government contracts, supervised the work of junior engineers, and acted as a principal liaison between staff and government clients. Mr. Jaeger is a California-licensed Mechanical Engineer and a licensed private pilot.
