About Stephen James

A WORLD renowned expert in the field of renewable energy, Stephen founded Green Energy UK Direct Ltd in 2009. Previously enjoyed a career travelling the Globe competing as a golf tournament professional. Stephen's passion for saving the planet and reducing the globe's carbon footprint saw him establish the business in the UK taking advantage of the Government's incentives to go green. Stephen swiftly grew the business from six figure turnover to seven figures and installed the UK's first large scale commercial solar system on a roof - 1 MW PV - in 2012. He developed an in-house team of 30+ staff, developed and installed free fit domestic systems, before branching out into solar parks with more than 500 MWs regularly in development in the UK. With the UK base for his business established, Stephen expanded to work on three continents - Europe, Asia and Africa. Each environment bringing with it different challenges, but Stephen adapted with assistance from both German and Scandinavian business partners to develop suitable schemes that have seen his business flourish. Now specializing in the Brazilian market and working closely with partners in emerging nations to bring sustainable energy to under developed corners of the planet. Stephen still believes strongly that the future must be green for future generations and enjoys the challenges of providing electricity and energy in areas often well off any National Grid. In Brazil Stephen with the team at Luz Consultancy is currently developing several 100 MW large scale ground mounted systems for Blue Chip International Companies. Luz Consultancy based in Natal, has a future pipeline of Brazilian projects of 800 MW of GD projects in the NE corner of Brazil at various stages of there development.
