About Stephen Jenkins

My Background is financial, I worked in AIB for 17 years and in my last role there I was running two branches in Dublin’s Docklands IFSC & Grand Canal branch. I was also involved in the groups Wellness/Wellbeing committee an advocate that represented both the branch network and championed men’s health initiatives. In my career to date, it is clear to see the impact and correlation financial wellness can have on someone’s health both physically and mentally. I often refer to it as the 'F' word as there is a shame around saying you are worried about your finances or don’t understand an element of it, the truth is we are all worried at some stage and the data we see is that 9/10 worry about their finances each week. Worrying about something that much is not healthy and impacts our productivity along with our lifestyles. I now work with organisations both public and private to design impactful financial education programs that are delivered using World Health Organisation approved health promotion methods. Education is the intervention for us to truly improve our financial health improving our literacy levels and helping us in connecting our wealth/income to the lives that we want to live. I am currently studying a Postgraduate Certificate in Workplace Wellness (Level 9) in Trinity College Dublin. This is giving me a further understanding of health promotion methods and ways in which I can support organisations going forward.
