Communications specialist with the ability to translate complicated concepts and issues into cogent copy and strategies. Started Czech Republic communications firm specializing in Central Europe market entry for information technology companies during the 1990s; accounts included Cisco Systems Inc, the former Compaq Computer Corp, and Intel Corp. Foundation of my 20+ year career has been business journalism, including extensive coverage of state and federal government agencies, legislators, legislatures, and executive-branch officers. Starting in western Massachusetts where I attended university and then to the plains of Central Europe and into the Riphean Mountains and beyond before returning to the United States, I have written and thought about a variety of business trends and themes. Currently based in Chicago, where I primarily focus on covering state and federal courts from the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Past assignments have included financial services (New York), federal taxation (Washington, D.C.) and transboundary policies affecting commerce, environment, litigation, and trade (several European capitals).
