About Stephen Kelso

I am an HVAC mechanic at Akima Working on site at Tinker AFB. I have worked in the HVAC field full-time for 10+ years. In addition to my HVAC background, I studied drafting at Moore Norman Technology Center (2006-2007), where I learned how to read, understand, and create 1) Blueprints, 2) Plan sets, and 3) Schematics as well as AutoCAD operation and general computer skills. My work experience also expanded to Lowe's Home Improvement Store (2007-2012). First, I gained management experience working for Lowe's as a Department Manager, overseeing and leading groups of people in different departments and creating productivity reports. Next, I worked in remodels at KelCo Construction Company, where I learned many electrical and general repair aspects. Finally, during my time as a Journeyman (2012-present), I have had a broad range of responsibilities, including 1) Supervising Service and Installation departments 2) Installation of new residential and light commercial equipment, 3) Installation of spiral, rectangular, hard pipe, and flex ductwork 4) Service residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, and 5) Training technicians in new installations and servicing existing equipment. The above responsibilities have allowed me to accumulate over twenty years of experience in inventory, people management, project management, detail-oriented reports, construction, HVAC, electrical, logistics, training, product acquisition, decision-making, and problem-solving.
