About Stephen Kovacs

I have been working within the Youth sector for over seven years now and have held multiple roles over the course of this time. I began my career as a Trainee Youth Worker assisting young people in community hotspots through advocacy and support before completing my traineeship and continuing to support young people within the Cumberland LGA through an Outreach setting. From there, I took reins of a program where I solely managed, developed and facilitated a music program across Sydney teaching young people how to write, record and perform their own songs before moving back to the Outreach space and supporting young people across Western Sydney. Following this I took upon a new challenge by completing my Diploma in Community Services and taking on the role as an AOD Caseworker for approximately 2 years working from a harm minimization framework supporting young people between the ages of 12-24 who were experiencing the impacts of substance usage. My current role see's me in hybrid position where I support young people in the areas of their life that they need assistance in, along with handling the recruitment and facilitation of a pre employment program and offering pathways to employment for young people aged 16-24
