About Stephen Larin

I am an Assistant Professor of Political Studies, the Associate Director of the Centre for the Study of Democracy and Diversity, and the Coordinator of the Internship in Political Studies experiential learning program at Queen's University, Canada. Previously, I have been a Senior Researcher with the Institute for Minority Rights at Eurac Research in South Tyrol, Italy; an Endeavour Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia; and a Visiting Researcher at Aarhus University, Denmark. My research interests are in two broad areas: the politics of majority–minority group relations, especially the relationship between majority-group civic nationalism and minorities; and the politics of artificial intelligence, especially problems with using AI in public decision-making.
