As head of Product Control – Derivatives, I have overseen the organization’s financial & risk functions and promoted integrity and transparency in all matters relating to accounting, risk management, cash flow, government regulations, reporting, and consolidation of affiliate financial data. I have served as a member of the management team; partnered with the management team to understand their business needs and provided financial and operational information that moved the organization’s goals and objectives to completion. Some of my career highlights are- I owned the financial reporting process for one of Europe's largest energy trading businesses with over $6 Billion of derivative assets under management- Evaluated effectiveness of strategies in achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives; prepared reports documenting variances to overall financial plan and the approved budget- Monitored the external regulatory environment and engaged the organization in the development and implementation of necessary compliance activities- Communicated noted issues pertaining to the valuation process or specific structured product valuations on a timely basis to senior management within Finance & Risk- Coached and provided feedback to team members to enable them to grow and reach their full potential- Monitored treasury strategy and policies, including such elements as liquidity, lending, interest rates, and foreign exchange- Coordinated and prepared month-end, quarterly and year-end financial statements- Developed meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to monitor, manage, and improve operations and overall company performance on a monthly and quarterly basis- Developed analytics that improved precision around planning and forecasting- Managed the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day financial activities such as scenario analysis, operational metrics, pricing analysis and structured products profitability analysis- Acted as a key functional advisor to the Head of Risk for all areas of finance.
