I'm a geoscientist specializing in fluvial geomorphology, with a focus on understanding river processes and form, typically within the context of stream restoration and/or how the constructed environment (civil engineering projects and infrastructure) interact with rivers and streams. I have conducted numerous geomorphic assessments and walked hundreds of miles of stream channel to gain insight into the processes shaping our watersheds and how it impacts infrastructure and natural environment for municipalities, governmental agencies, water districts, river authorities, etc. My expertise encompasses a wide array of skills and methodologies such as stream surveying, GIS imagery & LiDAR analysis, BEHI (bank erosion hazard index) mapping, meander migration analysis, UAV/drone mapping, dendrogeomorphology (using tree rings to calculate erosion rates), sediment transport analysis, and scour evaluation, and channel evolution/succession evaluation. Leveraging my expertise in stream geomorphology, sediment dynamics, and hydrology, I collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, from biologists to engineers, to develop holistic solutions tailored to each project's unique needs; ensuring innovative and effective solutions to protect infrastructure and the natural beauty of streams using a blend of traditional engineering and restoration/nature-based approaches.
