About Stephen Pennington

I find motivation through working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where I get to use my analytical skills to solve complex problems. Through my 4th year project on Game Theory in Autonomous Vehicles I have developed an interest in the use of Game Theory in real world situations and how it can be used to help make decisions. Skills I have developed through experiences: Problem Solving & Analytical Skills: My degree in Mathematics has given me a strong foundation in this area. During exams and assignments I have learnt to lay out my solutions in a logical and concise manner. Organisation & Time Management: Through being a member of a university society executive team to working as Welfare Assistant during the pandemic, I have learnt the importance of being organised and prioritising tasks and activities. Communication & Teamwork: Through volunteering in Scouting and on a Catholic Pilgrimage I have extended these skills. This involved supporting and encouraging a diverse range of individuals and leading teams in Scout competitions. Specific areas of knowledge: Microsoft Excel: I took part in seminars in my final year of University to develop my knowledge and understanding of Excel and all of its functions. Microsoft Office: Throughout my studies I have utilised Microsoft Office, including the use of Powerpoint for a presentation I made in my 4th year about how Autonomous Vehicles can utilise Game Theory for decision making. MatLab: I studied modules at University that required an understanding of MatLab including a module on modelling the spread of infectious diseases. Python & SQL: After graduating I have been taking online courses, learning how to utilise both Python and SQL.
