About Stephen Prince

I have always had a passion for helping people, and I believe this is why I have been drawn to the substance abuse counseling and mental health community. I have found I have a natural talent for counseling, and have enjoyed what it feels like to see a positive change in someone, and actually had something to do with that change-or bringing hope to someone who feels hopeless, and enjoy that realization when it happens. Substance Abuse Counselor offering 12 years of diverse experience providing substance abuse counseling, case management services, and career counseling to over 1700 Marines for the United States Marine Corps. Managed a weekly case load of 15 clients and conducted Maintenance therapy and counseling at the individual level. Performed 10 client intakes a month, including orientation and assessment in a traditional 12- step / core function. Broad base knowledge and practical application of client assessments, intakes, treatment planning, and creating a military version of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Career is supported by Master Science Counseling Psychology Chaminade University Honolulu, and recipient of North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board's Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Credential. In addition, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) by the Hawaii Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD), and recently received reciprocity and awarded LAADC ( Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).
