Stephen R. Franey, AIA, has over 32 years of experience in the design and construction industry with 25 years as a key contributor at IPS focused in the areas including company operations management and advanced Biopharma architectural design workflows and strategies. As Director of Architecture at IPS, Mr. Franey's chief responsibilities include company and departmental vision, long-term department strategies, staff development and retainment, career-path guidance, comprehensive project and design oversight, and operational management and leadership responsibilities for IPS United States Architectural offices while closely collaborating with IPS's Canada, Brazil, and India offices. Mr. Franey disseminates his diverse Leadership and Lifesciences knowledge to his team which includes; COVID-19 Vaccine manufacturing design, greenfield strategic master-planning, specialty laboratories, G-CON POD, pharmaceutical manufacturing design excellence for Aseptic, OSD, biotech, Cell & Gene Therapies, medical device, antigen, bulk API, and manufacturing support facilities including, primary-secondary packaging, GMP warehousing, DEA-related, Cold & Environmental Storage, Hazardous Use Design, OSHA-Safety, and many other unique project types. In addition to Stephen's core design and operational management abilities, Steve has volunteered his time as an experienced ISPE industry speaker, published author, university lecturer, and technologist. Stephen has also had project work broadcasted on national televised networks such as HGTV & MTV. Over his 25 years at IPS, Mr. Franey continues to work with his team to develop and promote improved design solutions driven through new technological innovation and inspiration. Early on in his career, Mr. Franey was instrumental in spearheading Building Information Modeling (BIM) design workflows which lead to a new approach to architectural design that has become the standard at IPS and the BioPharma A/E industry. Mr. Franey continues to seek professional and passionate talent, and encourages those around him to continue their pursuit for excellence.
