About Stephen Ramos

Hi - I'm Stephen and I love helping others! I spent almost 6 years in the U.S. Marine Corps on a team that provided "tip of the spear" capabilities around the world. During that time, I became intimately aware of the importance of our supporting units. In the Corps, EVERY MARINE is a rifleman first and foremost. Regardless of military specialty every Marine goes through the same basic and advanced combat training. This common ground is a key factor in motivating each "supporting" Marine to be the best he can be. The "support" Marine does not think of themselves as a support provider. They see themselves as equals to those of us on the front lines AND they KNOW their jobs are just as important (if not more) than ours. I have personally seen cooks, supply clerks, administrative clerks, mechanics, etc. poor their hearts into their trade with a sense of mission and accomplishment. They would scream, high-five, and most importantly YELL OORAH when we returned from a successful mission. These guys were dedicated to providing "world class support" to the tip of the spear,"ENABLING" us to successfully accomplish our mission! I view my role in an organization like these "supporting" Marines. Technology is not driving the business and it better not be an inhibiter. Instead, technology needs to enable the business. More importantly, the "people" of technology need to see themselves as enablers! The people of technology, is what I believe, to be the single most important factor in enabling the business to be successful at delivering on its mission. If employees are engaged, empowered, and have shared purpose, the business will have a high probability for success.
