The combination of Retail, Property Management, and IT support experience and knowledge makes me an excellent candidate in a broad range of employment. Having 14+ years of previous employment experience as a help desk administrator for Guelph Police Service and RWDI engineering consultants. I have recently added retail and property management to my skill set. Using my strategic and analytical skills I am able to provide solutions within a dynamic environment. Until the resent closure of the Target Hillside store in Victoria, BC, I was employed as the property management technician. In this role I managed the housekeeping team, maintained all equipment and fixtures. Performing minor building repairs as required and coordinating with journeymen any repairs beyond my scope. While at both the Guelph Police Department and RWDI, I was supporting desktop computers, laptops, blackberries and various office equipment such as; printers, photocopiers, monitors and servers. I monitored traffic loads to ensure optimal performance of the WAN and LAN. I created and maintained Active Directory accounts for all members. I performed hardware repairs and coordinated with outside venders for warranty issues when required. I also have significant server, network and website administration experience. As the back-up administrator I was responsible for the ongoing backing-up of the servers using Microsoft Data Protection Manager and LTO tapes. I am known for having the ability to translate complicated technical IT and mechanical information into plain language for the everyday computer user and this skill has been effective within the diverse positions I have held throughout my career. I am comfortable prioritizing and organizing multiple issues given by supervisor and user requests.
