About Stephen Schmerbeck

As a fourth-generation owner, I have witnessed great strides at both Garrett Insurance Agency and in the insurance industry in general. Garrett Insurance Agency truly was built from the ground up, a startup in modern language. At the end of WWII, my father’s great uncles worked to begin the agency after hours working for Captain Schreiner. Such a story of entrepreneurship, diligence, and perseverance directly correlates to how myself and my collogues approach the business. We not only work for our customers and families, but we work to continue a great story that began in 1918. Community and integrity have always been central to this agency, as we believe in partnering with our customers to understand their needs and story. Today, Garrett Insurance Agency is much more diverse and robust in the carriers we offer, multiple locations we work, and appreciation we hold for modern technology. For myself, I work closely with the leadership team to ensure our clients are taken care of, our carriers continue to offer excellent service and quality coverage, and our employees enjoy the office environment and culture. Two of my favorite parts of the industry are working with technology and people. I’ve been labeled a “tech nerd” once or twice in my life, and this agency has allowed me to integrate my passion for technology into the business. As we offer remote work to employees and encourage clients to engage with us through social media, these platforms can extend our reach and keep us connected to our loyal customers.
