About Stephen Scott
Dr. Stephen Scott is the Vice-Dean Research for the Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as a professor in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences with a cross-appointment to the Department of Medicine at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. As Vice-Dean Research, he is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of strategic initiatives which foster research excellence within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Scott's research work spans over 27 years, and has led to the development of an internationally recognized research program to study the neural, behavioural, and biomechanical basis of voluntary control. His groundbreaking invention, the Kinarm robot, is used to measure and modify arm motor function with an integrated virtual reality system to control the visual environment. In 2004, he co-founded Kinarm (BKIN Technologies Ltd.) in which he currently serves as Chief Scientific Officer. In November of 2022, Stephen Scott was elected into the Royal Society of Canada.
