About Stephen Sonderman

I'm a self-motivated individual who is passionate about programmes that help people improve lives and create positive environments for the communities. I have been focused on the development sector since 2008. I am particularly motivated by leading cross-cultural teams to build capacity for both clients and the team. I have 9 years experience managing international development programmes and more than 14 years’ experience in product marketing and sourcing/procurement roles. I began my career in International Development as a volunteer with an NGO in Cambodia and went on to become Regional Director of the organization’s operations in South East Asia. My education is on-going and diverse, which has allowed for me the opportunity to bridge many roles in my career. I have worked in twelve countries and travelled in over 135 and have an excellent understanding of cross-cultural communications and management. During the 4 years I worked at One World Play Project, I successfully managed three new roles including Asia Director, Staff Photographer & Sr. Programmes Manager, all while being based in Thailand. I believe strongly in the power of sport and participatory learning to unite and inspire the next generation’s leaders. I am passionate about Asia, international development and the power youth have to change course the world.
