The term "sales" tends to have a negative connotation lately. Someone hears "sales" and immediately gets the mental image of that used car salesman who will take your money and run. That's why sales professionals are now creatively labeled as "account managers" or "solutions consultants," etc. Let me be clear: that is not how I view sales and neither is it the way that I conduct business. To me sales is about developing trust and rapport with clients in order to build lasting, mutually beneficial- and yes, profitable- relationships. My background in management and inside sales has made me uniquely qualified to handle situations that involve quick-decision making, accountability and relationship-building with a wide range of clientele, including disgruntled customers. This foundation has been instrumental in the development of my professional growth and success in sales.
