I am currently a Claims Adjuster II for AFICS handling MSA claims on the East Coast. I investigate complex claims, determine liability, secure information, review coverages, arrange appraisals, and settles claims. I have obtained my Florida All Lines Adjuster License.My previous duty includes that of a Sergeant. I was responsible for the welfare, training and equipment of four patrol Officers. As a Sergeant I take pride in the continuing training of the Officers assigned to the shift and take time to teach, coach and mentor. I have been responsible for reviewing reports, inspecting equipment, ensuring adequate staffing for the shift, completing daily shift paperwork, and ensuring all assigned shift members are following department policies. I have reviewed use of force reports, prepared workman’s compensation claims with safeguarding HIPPA concerns, and reviewed policy violations where administrative action had to be taken. I was also been entrusted with the responsibility of being the department’s traffifc safety coordinator. I was responsible for the scheduling of THSO saturation days, maintaining the budget, encouraging productivity and attending regional meetings. I have completed Management training which includes, HR training, citizen and employee complaints and lawsuit mitigation. I have also been assigned to the department’s SWAT team for four years. I have also completed several First Line Leadership and Supervisor class.My previous duty, before becoming a member of the Springfield Police department, was that of a Sergeant in the United States Army. I ended my career with the position of Squad Leader. I was responsible for the supervision, health, training and welfare of 14 subordinates as well as their assigned equipment. I was responsible for enforcing policies, procedures, subordinate training and operational procedures of a Military Police Squad. I supervised the planning, organization, and conduct of complex and sensitive investigations relating to violations of criminal law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Department of the Army Regulations and administrative projects as directed by the Provost Marshal. The position required me to demonstrate excellent writing skills, including authorizing performance evaluations for junior staff members. I performed duties as a squad leader in one overseas combat deployment. I have also completed a Basic First Line Leadership Course.
